How it is scored

Each skill is worth 25 points. You need 60 of 100 in total, with at least 45 of 75 in the written part and 15 of 25 in Sprechen, so a strong written part cannot rescue a weak oral exam.

How to prepare

  • Count your words

The SMS needs 20–30 words and the email 30–40. Practise hitting those ranges so you cover every point without running out of time.

  • Scan the information board

Lesen Teil 2 is about finding facts fast, like which floor sells what. Look for key words instead of reading every line.

  • Prepare your life in A2 sentences

In Sprechen Teil 2 you talk about yourself. Have simple sentences ready about work, family, free time and where you live.

  • Practise making appointments

Teil 3 is a scheduling task. Learn phrases like Hast du am Montag Zeit? and Um 10 Uhr kann ich leider nicht.
